VOLKSWAGEN REPORTS SEPTEMBER RESULTS

02 OCT 2001 AUBURN HILLS, Mich. – Volkswagen of America, Inc. reported new car sales of 25,023 in September in the United States. Compared to last year’s 30,819, this month represents a decrease of 18.8 percent. For the year, Volkswagen is nearly on track with last year’s record pace. So far in 2001 sales were 268,788, compared to 2000’s total of 274,885 (2.2 percent).
