Accuride and Amcast/Speedline Form Joint Intl. Marketing Agreement

EVANSVILLE, Ind. & DAYTON, Ohio--Oct. 2, 2001-- Accuride Corporation announced today that it has entered into a joint international marketing agreement with Amcast Industrial Corporation and its subsidiary Speedline s.r.l. The agreement establishes procedures for the global joint marketing of each corporation's aluminum wheel product line for heavy/medium vehicles.
Accuride produces forged aluminum wheels at its Erie, Pennsylvania, and Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, facilities. Amcast produces cast aluminum wheels through its wholly owned subsidiary Speedline s.r.l. in Bolzano, Italy.
"Accuride and Amcast are dedicated to creating avenues by which we can assure our customers that we have the means to meet their global wheel needs," explained Bill Greubel, Accuride's President and CEO. "Last year, Accuride developed such a network in Europe for the steel side of our business through the Accuride/Gianetti alliance. And, now through the Accuride/Amcast agreement, we have achieved very similar avenues for our aluminum wheel product line."
"As a result of this agreement both corporations will now be able to provide their customers with a full-line European or North American local supply of aluminum wheels -- either forged or cast," added Larry Taylor, Accuride's Vice President of Sales and Marketing.
Byron O. Pond, Amcast's President and CEO, stated, "The added value of this agreement will go beyond the mere combination of marketing opportunities. The Accuride/Amcast agreement applies to aluminum wheels for medium and heavy class 6, 7, and 8 vehicles. Each firm will continue to separately market their products for light vehicles."
