The event was the first of ³The Four Champions² Championship Series, a playoff style format the combines the Series¹ Northern and Southern Divisions in a round of events to determine the overall National Series Champion. The 17-year-old Vickers, who competed regularly in the Northern Division and finished second in the standings, started #42 Engineered Machined Products Chevrolet Monte Carlo from 11th position after posting a qualifying time of 19.817 seconds at a speed of 94.828 m.p.h. ³We were loose in qualifying, but our setup was for the race. Brian also added, ²We have some guests of our sponsor here tonight attending their first event. We would like to thank them for coming and hopefully we can put on a good showing.² After the event Vickers commented, ³Our car was tight in the center of the corner during the first half of the race. That was really hurting us, obviously through the center and off the corner as well. We just bided our time until we were able to make our pit stop and make some adjustments.² Brian continued, ³I believe we pitted about lap 130 with the rest of the leaders. My crew did an excellent job and had a great stop. We picked up a bunch of track position.² Vickers went on to add, ³After our stop, the car was a lot better. Patrick (Crew Chief Patrick Donahue) made the right adjustments and was able to get the car freed up. We really didn¹t have much for the #84, but had a good race with Derrick Kelley for second and third. We need to build off this finish and carry our confidence through the remaining races.² The USAR Hooters ProCup Series Charlie Campbell Memorial Hooters 250 at Jennerstown Speedway will be aired on Speedvision Thursday, October 4th at 9:00pm.
