Proeza Installing USDATA Xfactory in 2nd Automotive Manufacturing Plant

RICHARDSON, Texas & MONTERREY, Mexico--Sept. 25, 2001--USDATA Corporation , a leading supplier of integrated manufacturing software solutions, announced that ProezaGrede, a highly recognized industrial group, has selected USDATA's Xfactory(R) as their comprehensive solution for providing state-of-the-art product knowledge and control systems.
"We have chosen Xfactory as part of our ProezaGrede integrated information system strategy for its ability to bridge the gap that existed between our business and plant floor systems," states Jesus Tamez, Information Systems Coordinator of ProezaGrede.
Xfactory will fulfill ProezaGrede shop floor operations requirements by integrating multiple manufacturing systems, while enabling them to easily make changes to their production process on the fly. Xfactory provides ProezaGrede detailed online visibility and tracking of orders on the shop floor. By linking ERP, MES (Xfactory), and SCADA, ProezaGrede will now have a paperless manufacturing system that gathers and analyzes the information necessary for business decisions.
"We are delighted to have ProezaGrede as a new customer and look forward to supporting their business goals and objectives. This sale further demonstrates Xfactory's rapid growth in the automotive industry," said Bob Merry, President and CEO of USDATA.
ProezaGrede's selection of Xfactory adds to the growing list of leading automotive industry companies who are using Xfactory. A few of these companies include Tower Automotive, Metalsa, Teksid, and Magna International.
Xfactory's innovative capabilities represent a huge step forward for manufacturing as product, production and defect tracking combined with the latest in production genealogy come together to reduce warranty liability, scrap, and work-in-progress.
The application will be implemented by Tecnologia en Sistemas de Integracion (TSI), a Monterrey, Mexico based systems integration and software products company. According to TSI's General Manager Jaime Bazan, "Our customers have different needs, among them detailed genealogy of the production. With Xfactory we are able to resolve this type of requirement. Many plants use different ERP systems that create production orders, and with Xfactory we download them and distribute the work all over the line and are able to visualize and track the process on line."
