ARCA: Kimmel clinches championhip

New Albany, Ind. - Frank Kimmel, driving for the Advance Auto Parts, Pork. The Other White Meat, E. T. Sharp Trucking race team, clinched his 2nd straight and 3rd overall ARCA RE/MAX Series championship Saturday night at the Berlin Speedway in Marne, Michigan. By virtue of 10 poles, 10 victories, and 19 top 5 finishes, captured the crown with 3 races still left on the schedule. With a commanding 1,110 point lead, Kimmel would not have to show up for the final races.

However, after dominating at the Lowes Motor Speedway in Charlotte earlier in the year, he is looking forward to returning there in 2 weeks to make it a sweep. Following the race in Charlotte will be a race at Talladega Superspeedway, a track Kimmel has never won at. The season's final race will be on Nov. 17th at the Atlanta Motor Speedway, where Kimmel and his team will also attempt to run the Winston Cup race. In addition to the Winston Cup race at Atlanta, Kimmel will t! ry and make the Cup races at Charlotte and Martinsville, VA in October.
