Isuzu Employees Donate More Than $7,000 to Red Cross to Aid Victims of Last Week's Terrorist Attacks on the U.S.

CERRITOS, Calif., Sept. 21 Employees of Isuzu Motors
America, Inc. and its affiliated companies in Southern California will
contribute more than $7,000 to the American Red Cross National Disaster Relief
Fund to assist victims of last week's terrorist attacks on the United States.
The employees started a collection fund for the victims last Friday,
during an emotional ceremony at Isuzu Motors America Corporate Office in
Cerritos, where more than 100 employees gathered to participate in the day of
national prayer and remembrance, designated by President Bush. In less than
an hour following the ceremony, an American-flag decorated collection box,
trimmed with newspaper clippings of last week's attacks, was filled with paper
bills, checks and coins. By the end of business day Friday, employees had
pulled $6,685 from their pockets to forward to the American Red Cross to help
aid in the relief efforts in New York and Washington, D.C. On Monday,
employees from Isuzu's Pontiac and Plymouth offices near Detroit reported
collecting an additional $800 for the victims.
Company executives said the contribution reinforced the employee's
commitment to "Go Farther," the Isuzu slogan used for advertisement campaigns.
Isuzu Motors America, Inc. Executive Vice President Terry Maloney said,
"This says a lot about our employees. Like most Americans, we all wished we
could be in NY and Washington, D.C. to help, but of course we could not."
Isuzu Motors America, Inc. is a wholly owned subsidiary of Isuzu Motors
Limited, a world leader in diesel engine development, production and design
and manufacturer of world class sport utility vehicles and industry-leading
commercial vehicles. In addition to sales of domestically produced vehicles
and engines, Isuzu Motors America, Inc. conducts automotive research and
design, and imports vehicles, diesel engines, and service parts for
