Visteon Strengthens Global Expertise With Appointment of New President of Europe & South America

    DEARBORN, Mich., Sept. 24 Visteon Corporation
continues to build a talented global leadership team with the appointment of
Dr. Heinz Pfannschmidt to the position of President of Europe and South
America.  He is a well-respected leader and has extensive experience in the
automotive and telecommunications industries.

structure and to help Visteon's strategic direction."
    Pfannschmidt will have responsibility for the Visteon Customer Business
Groups that interface with the automakers headquartered in Europe and South
America, and regional responsibility for the manufacturing operations in those
areas.  Additionally, he has been elected an officer of the company by
Visteon's Board of Directors.

    Pfannschmidt's most recent position was President and Chief Executive
Officer, TRW Automotive Electronics Worldwide, a position he held since
September 1999.  From 1997 to 1999, Pfannschmidt held the position Managing
Director of Europe, Inflatable Restraint Systems for TRW Automotive Worldwide.
Prior to TRW, Pfannschmidt spent more than four years with Hella KG Hueck &
Company, in Lippstadt, Germany, as Executive Vice President of Research and
Development, Engineering and Production.
    In addition to his experience at Hella, Pfannschmidt brings extensive
operational experience from his tenure at Philips Group, in The Netherlands,
where he held a variety of progressive roles in the company's worldwide radio
communications business.
    Pfannschmidt holds a PhD in electronics, as well as degrees in
telecommunications, engineering and experimental physics from Technische
Universitat Braunschweig, in Braunschweig, Germany.
