CTS Corporation Names James K. C. Chen, VP, Taiwan Business Development
ELKHART, Ind.--Sept. 24, 2001--CTS Corporation today announced that James K.C. Chen has been named Vice President, Taiwan Business Development. Chen will have total responsibility for all CTS business in Taiwan, including the Company's resistor/electrocomponents manufacturing operation, which Chen previously managed, as well as a new CTS Business Development Center being established for wireless communications component products in Taiwan. In making the announcement, Donald K. Schwanz, chief operating officer, CTS Corporation, stated: "Mr. Chen will focus on aggressively growing CTS' component business in Taiwan and will provide executive level local contact for all CTS customers in the region."CTS designs, manufactures and sells a variety of resistive, technology-based electronic components in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, and, recently announced plans to establish a business center in the Chung-Li area to concentrate on the marketing, design and sale of RF components used predominantly in wireless applications.
Chen is a 1976 graduate of National Central University in Chung-Li, Taiwan where he received a B.S. degree in physics. Upon leaving the Army in 1978, he accepted a position as a process engineer with CTS Components Taiwan. He later served CTS Taiwan as sales manager (1982), and manufacturing director (1984). In 1989, Chen was promoted to the position of managing director for CTS Components Taiwan, a position he has held until the promotion. Mr. Chen will assume his new responsibilities effective immediately.
