Dutch Toyota Dealers Choose BASIS International, Audev Software
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M.--Sept. 24, 2001--BASIS International Ltd., a global leader in software development tools, and Audev B.V., its Dutch application development partner, Monday announced the decision of Toyota dealers in the Netherlands to pilot test BASIS technology as their new Dealership Management Systems (DMS).Toyota dealers chose the new DMS application, CAR-IT(TM), developed by Audev, over two other major business application suppliers, including accounting application giant, ADP. BASIS technology forms the foundation of CAR-IT.
"It was a close race between ADP and Audev," said Jos Schrier, president of Audev. "It is clear a new competition has started. We are aggressively marketing CAR-IT, not only to Toyota but other manufacturers' dealerships. We have high hopes for CAR-IT."
BASIS' new Java-based product, BBj(R), was the deciding factor for Toyota because BBj allows integration with relational databases. "We are pleased that our BBj direction has allowed Audev to create such a flexible application for auto dealers," said BASIS President George Hight. "We are confident that together Audev and BASIS can meet the needs of automobile dealers worldwide."
Combining the networking strengths of Java with the ease and business processing of Business BASIC, BBj provides true client/server and distributed processing. BBj is available on Compaq Tru64 UNIX, Hewlett Packard HP-UX, IBM AIX, Linux, Microsoft Windows, Sun Solaris Intel and Sun Solaris SPARC operating systems.
