FLAT ROCK, N.C. – NASCAR Winston Cup Series car owner Andy Petree today announced a two-year sponsorship agreement with Square D and parent company Schneider Electric that will place Schneider Electric as the primary sponsor on the No. 55 Chevrolet.

"We are excited about continuing our relationship with Square D and Schneider Electric," said Petree, owner of Andy Petree Racing. "They have been with this team for three years and we have been very successful in building this program together from the ground up. We look forward to another two years with them and predict that better things will come."

Bobby Hamilton, driver of the No. 55 Chevy, breathed a sigh of relief upon hearing of the new agreement. "It definitely makes me feel a lot better," he said. We’ve got a good working relationship with them and to know they are back is exciting for us. I know I enjoy working with Square D because they have a lot of diverse employees who are down-to-earth people.

"I feel more fortunate now than I ever have to be able to work with the regular everyday people associated with Square D," Hamilton continued. "That’s the way they have their hospitality programs laid out. I enjoy just getting to know the people who buy Square D’s products and pull for our race team. It’s nice to walk into a tent knowing that people are behind our race program.

"Although our race team has won a race, we need a lot more victories under our belts," Hamilton said. "We faltered a little bit in the middle of this year, but we know we’ve got it spun back around in the right direction. I think we’ll bring them a lot better season in the future than we have this year. For me, it makes me breathe easier because when we were trying to get this thing put together, we had some of our worse races of the year. To know that our same sponsor is back behind us allows our program to stay on the upswing.

More details about the agreement will be announced at a press conference scheduled for Friday, October 19, at Talladega (Ala.) Superspeedway. The new paint scheme of the Chevy will be unveiled. Hamilton, the defending champion of the Talladega 500 in April, will be available along with Petree for a question-and-answer session immediately following the press conference.
