No. 40 and 01 teams to donate up to $24,000
MOORESVILLE, N.C. –– The No. 40 and 01 teams of Chip Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates will donate up to $24,000 to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund following the Dover Downs NASCAR Winston Cup event this weekend.
Chip Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates drivers Sterling Marlin, driver of the No. 40 Coors Light Dodge, and Jason Leffler, driver of the No. 01 Cingular Wireless Dodge, will each personally donate $10 for each lap they complete of the Dover Downs Winston Cup race on Sept. 23.
Chip Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates will match each of their drivers’ donations. CGR sponsors, Coors Brewing Company and Cingular Wireless, will also join the cause and will match Sterling Marlin and Jason Leffler’s donation of $10 per lap completed.
The team of Chip Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates would like to express their heartfelt sympathies to the victims, their families and everyone associated with last week’s devastating events. In tribute to those individuals, the No. 40 and 01 cars will display an American flag on the lower rear quarter panels and B-posts. The police and firemen will be recognized with respective symbols adjacent to the American flags.
