Cadna Automotive Survey Shows
More Acceptance Of Value-Line Products

MEMPHIS, TENNESEE - September 18, 2001 - A recent survey
of independent automotive repair facilities found an increased
acceptance of value-line products in the automotive aftermarket.
Cadna Automotive surveyed independent shops in Phoenix,
Los Angeles, Seattle, and Memphis, and found that nearly

40 percent are using a value-line in their operations.

The survey looked at the product lines of bearings, seals,
caps, thermostats, ignition, belts and hoses. According
to the Cadna survey, the use of a value-line product by
independent shops has increased dramatically, a trend that
started with the national chain installer. For example,
44 percent of independent shops surveyed were using a value

line for belts and hoses while 73 percent of national chain
installers were using a value line. It is a trend that
has doubled over the last five years.

"We have found that technicians, in both channels of distribution,
are increasingly seeing the value in offering a value-line
product to their customers," says Rick Shutt, senior vice
president of marketing for Cadna Automotive. "With more
motorists unable to perform traditional do-it-yourself
(DIY) projects, especially under the hood, technicians
know they must be increasingly competitive for the do-it-for-me(DIFM)
business."

Cadna Automotive offers value-line products for belts and
hoses under the ArmorMark brand, caps and thermostats under
the Robertshaw label, and bearings and seals under the
Pro-Fit brand. In addition, these products are marketed
under various private labels to the major programmed distribution
groups, retailers and buying groups.

Cadna Automotive offers nearly 90 percent application coverage,
a full warranty program, and OEM quality. Also, its factories
are all ISO 9001 certified.
