Farmers Appoints Chief Claims Officer

    LOS ANGELES--Sept. 17, 2001--Bryan Murphy has been named chief claims officer at Farmers Insurance Group.
    In this position, he will be responsible for personal lines and commercial lines claims operations.
    Prior to joining Farmers, Murphy served as worldwide head of claims at Zurich Financial Services Group in Zurich, Switzerland. Murphy has more than 22 years of experience in the insurance industry, and has served in various capacities for The Hartford Insurance Group, and Chubb and Son, Inc. He has passed the bar exams in New York, Illinois and Connecticut and has managed staff legal operations, outside counsel processes and other technical claims areas. Murphy has also been involved in crafting new claims approaches and processes.

    Murphy is a graduate of Duquesne University School of Business. He also holds a juris doctor from Fordham University School of Law.
