Asbury Autogroup Makes Corporate Contributions to National Emergency Effort
STAMFORD, Conn.--Sept. 14, 2001--- Asbury Autogroup Contributes $500,000 to Various Charities -
- Asbury's Local Dealerships Across the Country Pitch-in -
Asbury Autogroup, one of the largest automobile dealership groups in the United States, and its nine regional platforms, announced today that it will be contributing $500,000 to a variety of funds, including the NY Firefighters Memorial Fund, the United Way of Washington D.C. September 11 Fund and the American Red Cross, in continued support of the Rescue-Relief efforts surrounding the New York and Washington DC tragedies.
Their major shareholder, Ripplewood Holdings L.L.C. also contributed to the donation.
"We want to extend our deepest sympathies to all those affected by Tuesday's violence," says Asbury CEO Brian Kendrick. "We are committed to help the Nation and our communities in any way we can."
Additionally, each of Asbury's nine platforms across the country are demonstrating their commitment by encouraging employees and local residents alike to donate blood, money and support. Each dealership is collecting financial contributions throughout their respective communities.
