Motion Industries' Cookeville, TN Location Achieves ISO9002 Registration

BIRMINGHAM, Ala.--Sept. 14, 2001--The quality efforts of Motion Industries' facility in Cookeville, Tennessee, resulted in achieving the International Organization For Standardization 9002 (ISO9002) registration, states Bill Stevens, Motion Industries' president and CEO. The Motion Industries sales location has met rigorous requirements to achieve ISO9002 registration.
"As always, we are very pleased to add another Motion Industries facility to the list of ISO certified locations," said Stevens. "Meeting and exceeding standards on a national and international scale as manifested by ISO registration is an important part of our ongoing commitment to quality service."
To achieve ISO9002 registration, the quality program of Motion Industries' Cookeville, Tennessee, branch was confirmed with audits by Quality Certification Bureau, an independent quality system registrar based in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada that specializes in ISO9000, QS9000, AS9000 and ISO14000 registrations. The requirements for registration are rigorous and require knowledge and involvement from all members of the facility, including being prepared to answer questions that satisfy assessment requirements.
A total of 138 Motion Industries locations have now achieved ISO9002 registration, including six distribution centers. The ISO9000 series is an international standard for establishing, documenting and maintaining an effective quality system.
