Statement: Toyota Motor North America Operations

    NEW YORK, Sept. 14 The recent terrorist attacks in New
York and Washington D.C. are a profound national tragedy.  Our sympathy and
personal prayers are with all of those whose lives have been touched by these
events.
    All of Toyota's North American offices are currently open for
business.   As for Toyota's North American manufacturing plants, all are
running normal production with the exception of Toyota Motor Manufacturing,
Kentucky, Inc. (TMMK).
    The suspension at TMMK is due to a delay in parts delivery coming across
the Canadian border.  Second shift production at TMMK on Thursday and today's
first shift production were called off.  TMMK is expected to resume normal
operations with second shift this afternoon.
    We are closely monitoring for potential parts supply problems and delays
at all facilities.
