Walbridge Aldinger Earns Commodity and Gold Awards From
DaimlerChrysler
Sole Construction Company to Win Distinction
DETROIT, Sept. 13 Walbridge Aldinger Company, a worldwide
full-service construction company, is the recipient of two prestigious awards
from the DaimlerChrysler Corporation. Walbridge is the sole construction
company among 161 construction suppliers to receive a Commodity and Gold Award
for attaining preferred ratings in quality, price, delivery and technology.
Suppliers must achieve a minimum of 90 percent in each category to be
considered for an award. Out of nine Gold Award winners, only one company is
awarded the Commodity Award.
DaimlerChrysler's supplier ratings objectives measure performance and
assist the company in sourcing decisions and to recognize world-class
performance. Walbridge was recognized for its work at seven locations:
DaimlerChrysler Technology Center, Indiana Transmission Plant, Kokomo Casting
Plant, Kokomo Transmission Plant, Mack Avenue 3.7L Engine Plant, Mack Avenue
4.7L Engine Plant and the Warren Truck Assembly. Gold and Commodity award
nominees are reviewed and recommended by DaimlerChrysler Procurement and
Supply, Advance Manufacturing Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering and
Central Facilities Management.
Walbridge has received DaimlerChrysler supplier performance awards for
nine consecutive years. "We are extremely pleased and honored to earn these
new distinctions," said Walbridge Chairman and CEO John Rakolta, Jr. "Our
mission of excellence in customer service is a standard bearer for each of our
employees at every level." The DaimlerChrysler Commodity Award was instituted
in 1999 and that year Walbridge was the only U.S. firm to be recognized for
tooling and equipment construction in the procurement and supply division.
