Fayetteville, GA (September 12, 2001) – United Speed Alliance Racing announced today the Four Champions Championship Series has now become a four race series instead of the originally scheduled five-race format. The change in the format is a direct result from the cancellation of the Chicago Motor Speedway event due to the tragic events that occurred yesterday in New York, Washington, D.C., and Pennsylvania.

The first race of the Series, the Charlie Campbell Memorial/Hooters 250 will be held on Saturday, September 29, 2001 at Jennerstown Speedway, in Jennerstown, PA.

“Due to the unfortunate events over the past 48 hours we feel this is the best possible scenario for the Hooters ProCup Series and the chase to determine the 2001 National Champion,” said USAR President Gene Cox. “The four race series will remain adequate to determine a true national champion within the Series.”

The Goodyear Pit Crew Challenge, also originally scheduled for this weekend, will now be held at USA International Speedway in November. The schedule will remain the same for the activities at Lakeland, however the pit crew challenge will be a part of the race day activities.

“We have contacted officials at Goodyear and they agree this format will work for them,” added Cox.

The race to be held at USA International Speedway on November 24th will now become the Alan Kulwicki Memorial/Hooters 300. This will be the longest race on the schedule for the 3,350-pound stock cars.

The other two races in the Championship Series will be held at Myrtle Beach Speedway on October 13th and Concord Motorsport Park on October 27th.
