SPEC RACER: This weekend's Daytona event cancelled

CENTENNIAL, Colo. (September 12, 2001)-SCCA Pro Racing Ltd. has announced the cancellation of the Pro Spec Racer Series event this weekend at Daytona International Raceway. The announcement comes after a similar announcement from Grand-Am, which was the headlining event on the weekend.

The event has been cancelled for a multitude of reasons, including the inability for teams and officials to utilize air travel due to the FAA grounding of all United States Flight after Tuesday's hijackings and terrorist attacks.

The next round of the Pro Spec Racer Series is set for October 12-13 at Lime Rock Park.
