NASCAR BGN: Jeff Green to drive special paint scheme at Dover

(Mooresville, NC) Jeff Green, driver of the No. 10 Nestlé Nesquik Ford Taurus and 2000 NASCAR Busch Series Champion, will not be driving his Nesquik car at the Dover NASCAR Busch Series event on September 22, 2001. Instead, Green will showcase a brand new paint scheme, a Nestlé Toll House car, but the car will still be the eye-catching bright yellow that everyone is accustomed to.

"Nestlé Toll House has been an associate sponsor of our racing program since the beginning of 2000," said Green. "This is the first time they have been the primary sponsor on the car so we certainly want to have a great showing for them. The brand has been extremely supportive of our team and I'm glad that they are finally getting their turn in the spotlight.”

Green doesn't mind changing paint schemes for Dover because the Nesquik car hasn't always brought him the best of luck there. He ran the Nesquik paint scheme in last year's fall event and ended up totaling two race cars in one weekend - very unlike the No. 10 team. In happy hour, Green cut down a right front tire and crashed into turn one. The team had to bring out the backup for the race. Green started from the back and on lap 33, after the caution flag had been thrown, Green had started slowing down and Jimmy Spencer, behind him, chose not to slow and tagged Green, sending him into the wall, totaling the second car for the weekend. The second time the team ran a Nesquik car, in the spring of 2001, the car had a mechanical failure and finished 29th.

The promising aspect about the Nestlé Toll House paint scheme is the last time the No. 10 team ran a special paint scheme at Dover, which was the spring of 2000, they finished fourth.

"I'm pretty excited about the special paint scheme," said Green. "I think having the car painted up differently is the key to us doing well at Dover. We did well in the Nestea car in the spring of 2000, so hopefully this Nestlé Toll House car will give the same positive results."
