SCCA Club Racing Valvoline Runoffs to start as scheduled

CENTIENNIAL, Colo. (September 12, 2001)* The Sports Car Club of America, Inc. and Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course have issued a joint statement regarding the Valvoline Runoffs, which is scheduled to begin Monday, September 17:

Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course and the Sports Car Club of America extend our sincere and deepest sympathies to all who have suffered losses surrounding the unfortunate terrorist act on our country. It is both Mid-Ohio and the SCCA's current course of action to maintain the existing published testing and race week schedules for the Valvoline Runoffs®. Mid-Ohio and SCCA Club Racing management will work cooperatively on a case-by-case basis to give consideration and accommodate any individuals' extenuating travel circumstances as a result of this tragic happening. Right now, it is business as planned for the race event.
