BOWLING GREEN, Ky., Sept. 12 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series
rookie Brian Rose hopes to turn a 20th place starting position into the best
finish of his Truck Series career in Saturday's Silverado 350 NASCAR Craftsman
Truck Series race at Texas Motor Speedway.

In a reaction to Tuesday's terrorist attacks, qualifying and many other
events associated with the race have been cancelled. The race will start as
planned at 3:00 CT on Saturday, and teams will have a practice session Friday
afternoon. The starting lineup was determined by team owner points in the
series.
"It's a good decision to eliminate some of the festivities surrounding the
race," said Rose, driver of the no. 51 Sunclear Energy Chevrolet. "As
frightening and massive as the attacks are, I don't think anyone would be in
the mood to join in the kind of happy celebrations that were planned."
In only ten starts since joining the series in June, the 21-year-old Rose
has posted five top-20 finishes, including two 15th place finishes. His best
results came on the 1.5-mile Kentucky Speedway and the 1.33-mile Nashville
Superspeedway. Texas Motor Speedway is a 1.5-mile track.
"We expect a good, solid run at Texas," said Rose. "We seem to perform
well on tracks this size, and we've worked a lot of the bugs out which were
slowing us down last week at Richmond." Rose started 29th and finished in
24th position last week in the Kroger 200 at Richmond International Raceway,
his lowest finish since his second Truck Series race in June.
"The whole team is expecting this to be our best race of the year," he
added. "We'll have a good starting position, the equipment is great, and
everybody is extremely focused on what we have to do run near the front."
Racing fans can follow Rose's career and join his fan club by visiting his
official web site at http://www.RacingRose.com. The Silverado 350 will be broadcast
live on ESPN television Saturday beginning at 3 pm CT. Live radio coverage on
MRN network affiliates begins at 2:30 pm CT.
