INDIANAPOLIS, Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2001 - In light of today's tragic events in this nation, the status of the Chevy 500 race weekend this Friday through Sunday at Texas Motor Speedway will be determined Wednesday, said Brian Barnhart, Indy Racing League vice president of operations.

Indy Racing League, NASCAR and TMS officials have started discussions about the event's status. The Chevy 500, scheduled for Sunday, is the season finale for the Indy Racing Northern Light Series. A NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race is scheduled to take place Saturday at TMS.
