Society of Automotive Analysts to Feature Aftermarket Leaders Conference In Las Vegas on Oct. 31, 2001

    SOUTHFIELD, Mich., Sept. 10 Two top Wall Street analysts
will round out the speaker lineup at the Society of Automotive Analysts'
first-ever conference on the $250 billion U.S. aftermarket being held during
this year's Automotive Aftermarket Industry Week in Las Vegas, Oct. 30 -
Nov. 2, 2001.  The annual Industry Week comprises the AAPEX Show and the SEMA
Show and is the largest trade-only automotive event in the world, attracting
80,000 executives, 36,000 of whom are buyers from the U.S. and 120 foreign
countries.
    Greg Salchow, vice president and senior automotive analyst at Raymond
James & Associates, and John Daviduk, vice president of global investment
research at Goldman Sachs, will wrap up the "Automotive Aftermarket Outlook
2002 and Beyond" with their observations on the aftermarket's prospects in
2002.
    The conference is Wednesday, Oct. 31 from 1-5:30 p.m. at the Venetian
Hotel, adjacent to the Sands Expo Center, site of the AAPEX Show.
    Prior to the analysts' closing remarks, nine aftermarket executives on
three panels will have provided insights on their company's prospects in terms
of the U.S. and global aftermarket.
    Panel 1, "Where the Market is Headed Overall," will attempt to predict the
future of the aftermarket, and the drivers for growth and change.  Featured
panelists include:
    -- John F. Smith, General Motors Vice President and General Manager of GM
Service Parts Operations
    -- Steve Koch, Senior Vice President, Marketing Services and Customer
Development, Pennzoil-Quaker State Company
    -- Michael Cardone, Chairman and CEO, Cardone Industries
    For Panel 2, "The Evolution of Channel Competition," the panelists will
share their insights on which aftermarket channels stand to gain or lose in
the coming years and how the market will be divided.  Speakers include:
    -- Ron Pyle, President, CarParts Technologies
    -- Mike Jordan, President, Automotive Consumer Services Group, Ford Motor
Company
    -- Thomas Jennett, General Manager of the North American Aftermarket
Division, Valeo, Inc.
    Members of Panel 3, "The Aftermarket's Growth Potential," will discuss new
markets and new technologies that will shape the aftermarket and its suppliers
in coming years.  Panelists include:
    -- Rick C. Meyer, General Manager, Global Aftermarket Operations, Visteon
Corporation
    -- Dan Daniels, Senior Vice President, Light Vehicle Aftermarket,
ArvinMeritor
    -- Mark Frissora, Chairman and CEO, Tenneco Automotive, Inc.
    The Wall Street analysts' presentation, "The Big Chill: Wall Street's View
of the Aftermarket," will provide the closing "exclamation point" to the
afternoon session.
    The program opens with W. Van Bussmann, senior vice president, global
forecasting, JD Power & Associates, giving an overview of the U.S. and global
economy and how it will impact aftermarket sales.  The conference will be
moderated by McKinsey & Company's Glenn Mercer, president of SAA.
    The SAA/AAIW "Automotive Aftermarket 2002 and Beyond" conference will be
held from 1:00-5:30 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 31 at the Venetian Hotel.
Registration for the event includes the program, an evening reception, and all
presentations and materials.  Advance registration before September 15, 2001
is $250.00 per person.  After that, registration is $300.
