September 9, 2001Kevin Harvick, No. 29 GM Goodwrench Chevrolet Monte Carlo (finished 2nd): "I don't know what I've got to do to win a race here at Richmond. We always run real good. It was a good night for this GM Goodwrench racecar and the Taz was in contention tonight. That's just short track racing. Richmond is like Bristol. Sometimes you just run into each other a little bit. And we're all grown men. We're all out there knowing how to race."
(On passing Ricky Rudd): "Well, we aired our tires up knowing it was going to be a short run and they just got to scooting there a little bit and I just kind of miss-judged and hit him a little bit and got in the back of Ricky. I wasn't planning on hitting him at all, but I just got into him a little bit and he saved it. When you get into somebody that late on a short track race, you've got to expect a little bit in return. I knew it was coming. Our car had fallen off a little bit and his car was pretty good. I was the first one over to congratulate him. He did what he had to do to win the race. It's great when you can race with people. I'm just glad I didn't take him out because I didn't mean to do it.
(Did Dale Jr. give you a few bumps going down pit road?) "He just does that. Every time he's behind me he just bumps me. We were at Las Vegas testing the first time I was in my Busch car and the Cup cars were out there and he knocked the rear bumper cover off my car."
