Titan: USWA Leadership to Submit Contracts for Ratification

    QUINCY, Ill., Sept. 7 Titan International, Inc.
acknowledges that United Steelworkers of America (USWA) Local 164
of Des Moines and Local 303L of Natchez have reached tentative agreements on
all outstanding issues with Titan Tire Corporation and Titan Tire Corporation
of Natchez.  Titan has been informed that the union leadership will submit the
proposed contracts to their memberships for ratification on September 19,
2001.

    Maurice Taylor, Titan president and CEO, stated, "Work stoppages are never
beneficial for either side of a labor dispute.  We are encouraged that the
membership will be given a chance to vote and we are hopeful that it will be
approved.  Putting this issue behind us will allow Titan to focus available
resources on company growth."

    Until the memberships have had the opportunity to vote, no details of the
agreements will be issued and there will be no further comment.
