Major Japanese Automaker Places $470,000 Software Order With Mechanical Dynamics

ANN ARBOR, Mich., Sept. 7 A major Japanese automaker has
placed a $470,000 order for ADAMS(R) functional virtual prototyping software
from Mechanical Dynamics, Inc. . Mechanical Dynamics expects to
recognize approximately $420,000 of the order in the third quarter of 2001.
The customer, one of the largest ADAMS users in the Asian region, is
extending its use of Mechanical Dynamics' chassis solutions. The automaker
also ordered FTire, a specialized ADAMS(R)/Tire model for studying the effects
of tire behavior on system loads and one of the company's newest offerings.
Mechanical Dynamics' market-leading ADAMS(R) software allows engineering
teams to build and test functional virtual prototypes of complex mechanical
designs, realistically simulating full-motion behavior on their computers.
The company's products are the de facto standard in the automotive industry,
and lead the market in aerospace, rail, and general machinery. Building on
industry partnerships, strategic acquisitions, a strong product pipeline, and
a dedicated team worldwide, Mechanical Dynamics has established itself as the
global leader in functional virtual prototyping.
