Irwindale, Calif. - - It's all on the line on Fan Appreciation Saturday night September 15, for Irwindale Speedway's premier NASCAR weekly racing division, 17 races, 22 weeks, 5 months of high-speed, high-stakes racing all comes down to this final 100-lap event … Fifty flying miles on "LA's Half-Mile Superspeedway" that will crown the 2001 Food 4 Less Super Late Model track champion. Nine different winners have smiled for the cameras and gone up to the press box for the traditional post-race interview.
The race will also be the tenth and final installment of this year's hotly-contested "race within a race", the Miller Big 10 Challenge, with its $10,000.00 end-of-season points fund looking very tangible of late.

ADDING TO THE EXCITEMENT IS THE FACT THAT SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 15 HAS BEEN DECLARED: "FAN APPRECIATION NIGHT" AT IRWINDALE SPEEDWAY ...

FANS WILL ONLY PAY $5.00 FOR ADMISSION AND $1.00 FOR A HOT DOG AT THE TRACK'S SNACK BAR! GOODIES AND GIFT DRAWINGS WILL ALSO BE A PART OF THE NIGHT'S "THANK YOU!" TO THE GREAT FANS WHO HAVE MADE THE TRACK'S THIRD SEASON SUCH A GREAT SUCCESS.

Also on the race card is a 75-lap race for the night's title sponsor the American Race Trucks. These always-entertaining and colorful racing machines are among the most affordable and most consistently competitive forms of professional short track racing around.
(the following is from their website: www.americanracetrucks.com) The American Race Truck is a full-size, V-8 powered race truck built to compete on asphalt oval tracks up to ¾ mile in length. It is a high-quality, professionally engineered racing vehicle that offers maximum performance at an affordable price. American Race Trucks feature fiberglass bodies that replicate Ford F150, Chevy Silverado, and Dodge Ram trucks. All are V-8 powered (Ford 302, Chevy 305, Dodge 318) with automatic transmissions, with the engines built to ensure equal power output among the three different makes. For greater power without sacrificing reliability, all engines feature a spec-racing carburetor, manifold, cam, electronic ignition and more. American Race Trucks also feature dual reservoir master brake cylinders for adjustable (front/rear) brake bias, racing coil springs front and rear, and steel bodied racing shocks. Custom upper A-arms and wedge jack bolts provide adjustment according to track length and surface. Most of the parts used in American Race Trucks are available from local auto parts retailers. The chassis features a full, Sportsman-style roll cage made from 1.75" X 0.095" tubing, formed aluminum racing seat with 5-point safety harness, window net, and collapsible steering column. The 15-gallon fuel cell rests in a metal canister, and each American Race Truck includes an on-board fire suppression system.

The NASCAR Grand American Modifieds, and the touring Mechanix Wear Speed Trucks, and MSRA Pro4's will all be on scene and looking for late season points on Saturday night. The only guarantee is that the action will be intense.
Tickets for this great night of action-packed NASCAR racing are on sale now at the track box office (13300 E. Live Oak Avenue just off the 605 freeway), by phone (626-358-1100) and on the internet at www.irwindalespeedway.com.
As always gates open early at Irwindale (4:00 pm) and fans are encouraged to arrive early to enjoy the live band, face painting for the kids, and an "insider's" look at the race cars as they practice and then qualify for the night's action.
Pre-race festivities start at 6:30 pm and the busy pit area, normally off-limits during the races, is open to one and all directly after the final race of the evening offering fans a close-up and personal contact with the night's drivers and their hard-working crews. THANK YOU
