Promotions
Highly Motivated Leadership Team in Place
TROY, Mich., Sept. 6 Penske Auto Centers LLC today
announced the promotion of Scott Moss to Chief Administrative Officer. In
addition to this new assignment, Moss will continue to act in the capacity of
Senior Vice President of Human Resources for the Company.
James Wheat, President and CEO of Penske Auto Centers, stated "When I
joined Penske Auto Centers in 1998, I quickly recognized the leadership
capabilities and commitment to improving the organization that Scott
demonstrated. Over the last few years, he has consistently provided strong
leadership guidance and I'm confident that he is the ideal candidate to take
on this new assignment."
As Chief Administrative Officer and Senior Vice President of Human
Resources, Moss will be responsible for the management of key business issues
such as human resources, training, safety and risk management. Additionally,
Moss will further enhance the Company's Customer Call Center to ensure high-
quality customer service. Since joining Penske Auto Centers in 1998, Moss has
been instrumental in identifying and improving synergies within the
organization. He has also helped to establish effective human resource
programs; implement training and development programs for all associates;
implement cost controls for store support and improve the customer service
program.
In addition to today's announcement, the Company has also recently named
other key executives to its leadership team. They are:
Peter Klein - Chief Operating Officer and Senior Vice President of Stores
-- Klein joined Penske Auto Centers in 1997 and has responsibility for the
Company's operations, stores and merchandise purchase and replenishment. In
this capacity, Klein and his team develop and maintain plans for efficient
day-to-day operations for all 630 Penske Auto Centers. Additionally, Klein is
responsible for purchasing, inventory control systems and management of the
Company's Fleet Sales Team.
J. Randall Lawrence - Chief Financial Officer and Senior Vice President
of Finance
-- Lawrence, a 30-year veteran with the parent Penske Corporation, joined
Penske Auto Centers in 1998. As Chief Financial Officer and Senior Vice
President of Finance, he is responsible for ensuring the integrity of the
Company's financial controls and information systems. Together, the financial
and information systems groups turn tens of thousands daily transactions
nationwide into critical management information on a real-time basis.
William (Bill) McStay - Chief Marketing Officer and Senior Vice President
of Marketing and Communications
-- McStay joined Penske Auto Centers in 1998 and brings more than 47 years
of marketing and advertising experience to the Company. As Chief Marketing
Officer and Senior Vice President of Marketing and Communications, McStay and
his team are responsible for the overall enhancement of the Company's brand
identity and equity in the marketplace, developing creative advertising and
marketing programs and the successful implementation of various public
relations initiatives.
"These individuals have been part of the management team for the last
three years and have been instrumental in establishing Penske Auto Centers as
a key player in the automotive preventative service category," said Wheat.

and equipment agreement for an additional five years," said Wheat. "Our
business strategy includes the opening of three new state-of-the-art service
centers by the end of 2001 and the opening of 30-40 new centers in 2002. And
that's just the beginning. Our leadership has set aggressive goals for our
Company and I'm confident that we'll meet, if not exceed each of them."
