    NORTHVILLE, Mich., Sept. 5 Hayes Lemmerz International,
Inc. announced that it has postponed the release of its second
quarter 2001 earnings release and related conference call, originally
scheduled to take place at 11 a.m. EDT today.

    The Company said it would announce a new date for the earnings release and
conference call in the near future.
