American Suzuki Experiences Four Percent Sales Increase for Year-to-Date

    BREA, Calif., Sept. 4 American Suzuki Motor Corporation
(ASMC) Automotive Division posted a four percent year-to-date sales increase
over 2000 sales, with sales of 44,501 units this year.  Suzuki's entry level
SUV, the Vitara, posted a 13-percent increase over August last year.
    The Automotive Division of American Suzuki Motor Corporation (ASMC), in
Brea, Calif., was founded in 1985 by Suzuki Motor Corporation (SMC).  ASMC
markets automobiles in the United States through a network of more than
400 automotive dealerships in 49 states.
    ASMC's parent company, Suzuki Motor Corporation, is a diversified
worldwide manufacturer, selling a variety of vehicles in 191 countries.
Founded in 1920, it is based in Hamamatsu, Japan.
