Isuzu Joins OEConnection Online Parts Venture

Isuzu Joins OEConnection Online Parts Venture

Company's Wholesale Customers Are Linked to a Suite of Products and Services

RICHFIELD, Ohio, and CERRITOS, Calif., Sept. 4 Isuzu
Motors America, Inc. is the first Asian automaker to join OEConnection, LLC,
an Internet service portal that will electronically link Isuzu retailers with
their wholesale parts customers, thus streamlining the order and delivery of
parts and other vehicle products. The company's move to participate in the new
venture is another indicator that it is willing to "Go Farther" to develop
relationships and enhance service.
Realizing the growing demand from wholesalers to quickly access parts and
other products, Isuzu -- with approximately 550 dealerships in the United
States -- is among a growing list of automakers to join OEConnection. By
joining, Isuzu parts customers will have access to OEConnection's entire suite
of e-commerce products, as released online.
"Isuzu and OEConnection share the common vision of deploying technologies
that enable dealerships to more efficiently communicate with and service their
wholesale parts customers," said Isuzu Vice President of Parts and Accessories
Harold Thomas. "This venture with OEConnection proves that 'Go Farther' isn't
just our motto, but it is our approach to doing business."
OEConnection Vice President of Sales and National Accounts Kevin Weidinger
said, "We are delighted to have the opportunity to deliver our suite of
e-commerce products to Isuzu's dealerships. OEConnection's products provide
dealerships with the productivity tools that they have asked for to extend and
improve their wholesale parts business," continues Weidinger.
OEConnection, at http://www.oeconnection.com , will facilitate the specification,
ordering and servicing of parts between dealerships and their parts
procurement customers. The company's debut product, CollisionLink(TM), is
currently being released nationwide on a region-by-region basis.
DaimlerChrysler, Ford Motor Company, General Motors and Bell & Howell
formed OEConnection in December 2000. Currently, the site provides vehicle
parts and information from Buick, Cadillac, Chevrolet, GMC, Oldsmobile,
Pontiac, Ford, Lincoln, Mercury, Chrysler, Dodge, Plymouth, Saturn and Volvo.
Isuzu Motors America, Inc. manufacturers and distributes parts for the
popular Isuzu sports utility vehicles and commercial vehicles.
