ANC Rental Taps Click2learn to Train Associates at Alamo and National Car Rental

Through Click2learn, One of the Nation's Largest Auto Rental Companies Gives Workers Round-the-Clock Access to Professional Development Programs

ANC Rental Corporation , the parent company of the Alamo and National car rental brands, has tapped e-Learning powerhouse Click2learn to create a corporate e-Learning hub to serve its North American employee base.
The initiative will allow ANC Rental to roll out performance and learning programs in a wide range of company procedures and policies to thousands of associates at approximately 300 airport rental locations in North America. The initiative, which will be rolled out over the course of four years, will be accessible to employees via computers at rental locations and at the ANC Rental Corporation's corporate headquarters in Ft. Lauderdale.
ANC Rental's initiative is based on Click2learn's industry-leading skills and competency-based learning management system (LMS), the Aspen Learning Management Server. The scaleable platform provides a single point of management for all the company's performance and learning program activities -- including instructor-led learning events and meetings, self-directed courses, InterWise virtual classroom technology, and personalized e-Learning content and courses.
By moving to e-Learning delivery and management of their performance and learning programs, ANC Rental will make performance and learning much more accessible to its geographically dispersed workforce. In the past, the company's 24-hour-a-day, 7-days-a-week operations have made it challenging to deliver traditional classroom-based performance and learning programs. By incorporating e-Learning as part of its blended learning strategy, the company will be able to train employees on new programs and policies more quickly and efficiently. ANC will also use the program to conduct e-Meetings.
In addition, managers will be able to analyze employees' skills, identify gaps and assign specific information to address those skill gaps. As performance and learning assignments are completed, Click2learn's Aspen LMS will allow ANC Rental to assess how well an individual, a division, or the workforce as a whole understands company systems and policies. The result provides the company with a constantly updated inventory of the skills and knowledge of its workforce.
"With Click2learn's Aspen Learning Management Server, ANC Rental will be able to significantly improve their performance and learning system by integrating online content, virtual classrooms, and traditional instructor-led training. At the same time, they'll improve the learning experience and better track results," said Kevin Oakes, Chairman and CEO of Click2learn.
ANC Rental has opted to host its learning platform with Click2learn, reducing IT requirements for system maintenance and updates and taking full advantage of Click2learn's learning technology integration expertise.
The company's e-Learning initiative covers the option to deploy other components of Click2learn's recently announced Aspen platform, designed to offer end-to-end e-Learning solutions and manage richer, personalized learning. The full Aspen suite, currently in beta, will ship commercially in early September.
