Audi Records a Strong Record August Sales Month
AUBURN HILLS, Mich., Sept. 3 Today, Audi of America, Inc.
announced its August 2001 automobile sales of 7,458, a 1.8 percent increase
from the previous August 2000 record month when sales were 7,326. These
results total the best year-to-date ever with sales of 58,732, an increase of
8 percent during the same period last year when sales totaled 54,245.
With the all-new 2002 A4 sedan gearing up for launch in October, the
current A4 model line reported sales of 2,954, down 8 percent compared to
3,221 last year. The A6 sedan and Avant sales were 2,594, off 11 percent from
August 2000 sales of 2,902. The Audi allroad quattro reported sales of 661
for the month.
Audi TT sales continued its solid pace with 1,085 sold in August versus
963 units sold last year, representing a 13 percent increase.
Audi's all-aluminum flagship A8 had sales of 164 versus 2000's 240.
