QUALIFYING SESSION #2 NOTES: Saturday morning's 20-minute second qualifying
session for the Castrol Super Series Late Models failed to produce a
challenge to Friday's fastest time, which was set by Blue Streak Intrepid
driver Al Turner. The Barrie, ON racer was one of just 10 competitors who
took to the damp, 'green' Molson Indy Vancouver track this morning.
Quickest in the session was Mr. Lube Chevrolet driver Jeff Lapcevich, whose
1:50.161 was almost half a minute slower than Turner's pole-winning time of
1:26.185, set on Friday. Rain throughout the night washed away the rubber
that had accumulated on the track on Friday. An overcast morning has given
way to clearing skies and it's anticipated that the conditions will be dry
for the Castrol Super Series race, this afternoon at 5:00 p.m. (Pacific).
