PACCAR Parts to Offer Innovative Intra Products
TUKWILA, Wash. -- The IntraUSA Group, Inc. today announced that it reached
agreement with Renton, Wash.-based PACCAR Parts to catalog and distribute
its DC power management products to Kenworth and Peterbilt dealers
throughout North America. The agreement marks Intra's first major OEM Parts
contract.
"Kenworth and Peterbilt have always been known as industry technology
leaders," said Tom Clevinger, general marketing manager for PACCAR Parts.
"These innovative Intra products hold great promise to keep our customers at
the cutting edge of productivity."
Aly Jetha, president and CEO of The IntraUSA Group, Inc. added: "For us,
this is much more than just a parts order," he said. "We're a relatively
young company offering a new technology. The fact that PACCAR Parts has
recognized our products' quality and durability -- as well as their benefit
for Kenworth and Peterbilt customers -- is really an honor. This is a
landmark day for us."
Jetha reports that PACCAR Parts' first "sizeable" order includes Intra's
Low-Voltage Disconnect (LVD) and Jump-Start Prevention Kit, adding that
contract negotiations are 'in the works' with other major OEM parts
divisions.
The LVD is a cost-effective switch that allows truck drivers to enjoy the
comfort of electrical appliances on the road -- while preserving battery
power needed to start the engine. Using patented Intra technology, the LVD
monitors battery levels, automatically disconnecting non-critical power
loads when battery voltage reaches critical levels. According to Will
Watson, Intra's vice president, sales, the device significantly reduces the
need for jump-starts and extends the life of costly replacement items, such
as starters and batteries.
Intra's Jump-Start Prevention Kit is designed for truck fleets and dealers
with dormant or standing vehicles. Watson explains that, due to the
electronics found on today's heavy-duty truck, it takes as little as a week
for a dormant vehicle to draw down its battery to the point that it cannot
be started. "This is a fully portable product and can be easily
disconnected and moved from vehicle to vehicle," he said. "It monitors
battery levels, assuring that vehicles will start and significantly reducing
costly jump-starts and battery replacement."

dealer's parts department.
The IntraUSA Group, Inc., a privately held company, develops DC power
management products based on its proprietary semiconductor technologies
which allow better, more efficient management of DC current flow. The Intra
Switch -- the patented core of the company's technology -- allows Intra's
products to handle an extremely high amount of current with very low heat
generation. This simple concept enhances all aspects of DC power
generation, storage and consumption. For more information, visit the
company's website at www.intra-usa.com.
