Fitch Places Conseco Finance Vehicle Trust 2000-B Nts On Rtg Watch Neg

NEW YORK--Aug. 30, 2001--Fitch has placed Conseco Finance Vehicle Trust 2000-B `AAA' rated class A-2 and class A-3 notes on Rating Watch Negative. In addition, the `AA' rated class M-1, `A' rated class M-2 and `BBB' rated class B notes have also been put on Rating Watch Negative indicating that there is a reasonable probability of a downward rating change in the near term. The `F1+' rating assigned to the class A-1 notes remains unchanged. The rating action is in response to collateral performance outside of Fitch's original expectations.
The 2000-B transaction is backed by receivables from Conseco Finance's truck and trailer retail installment sales contracts and promissory notes. The collateral has been impacted by a slowing economy, volatile fuel prices, and a decrease in transport traffic, which have contributed to delinquencies and loss frequency. Cash flow from vehicle liquidations has fallen short of expectations due to weakening in the wholesale market and slower disposition timelines. Fitch does not anticipate these conditions will materially improve in the near term.
Fitch will continue to monitor the transaction closely and take further action as necessary. For current and historical deal performance on Conseco Finance Vehicle Trust 2000-B, please see Fitch's surveillance available on our web site at `www.fitchratings.com'.
