Intermec's Freeburg Honored With Auto Industry Achievement Award

    EVERETT, Wash.--Aug. 30, 2001--Eric Freeburg of Intermec Technologies Corp. has been honored with the Automotive Industry Action Group's (AIAG) Outstanding Achievement Award for his contributions and leadership on behalf of AIAG and the automotive industry.
    Freeburg is a senior automotive industry executive in Intermec's Southfield, Mich., office.
    Freeburg received the award at the organization's annual awards dinner Aug. 29, in Detroit. This is the second consecutive year Freeburg has received an Outstanding Achievement Award.
    "Eric continually demonstrates the focus and leadership that comes so naturally to him," said Tom Miller, Intermec executive vice president, Worldwide Sales and Marketing. "Whether representing Intermec or the AIAG in its automotive supply chain initiatives, everyone in the industry knows that Eric gives 120 percent -- and then some. He fully realizes the benefits supply chain efficiencies can bring to the industry and is dedicated to facilitating full implementation."
    The award program acknowledges active volunteer participation and leadership in AIAG's various initiatives
    Freeburg, a native of Birmingham, Mich., served as co-chairperson of the Automatic Identification Work Group. He also was a member of the Automatic Identification Symbology Work Group and the Logistics Project Team.
    "Eric was instrumental in putting together the OEM and tire supplier team that has successfully produced the B-11 tire tagging standard that is being introduced at the 2001 AutoTech show," said Ron Tillinger, AIAG program manager. "This cooperation between fiercely competitive suppliers and their OEM customers demonstrates the importance of organizations such as the AIAG, whose goal is the improvement of the automotive industry worldwide."
