USAR: PARS and CARS Pro-Am Golf Tournament Revs Up Weekends Activities

Lakeland, FL – The swoosh of fairway drivers and the 1 PM shotgun start of Wednesday’s Pro-Am Golf Tournament launched the weekends activities dubbed the PARS and CARS Classic. Hosted by Cleveland Heights Golf and Country Club, the best of the NGA Hooters Golf Tour joined forces with the City of Lakeland, the USAR Hooters ProCup Stock Car Series, USA International Speedway as well as Hooters of Lakeland locations to present the first annual edition of the PARS and CARS Classic in Lakeland. The weekend highlights will include tournament action play Thursday through Sunday for the NGA Hooters Golf Tour professionals and the final division showdown for the USAR Hooters ProCup Series Southern Division with the Jackaroo Sauces 200 presented by Lucas Oil at USA International Speedway.

Saturday night’s race will decide the top 25 in southern division points and who will be eligible for the Four Champions Championship races combining the top 25 from the south with the top 25 from the Northern Division. Two time USAR Hooters ProCup Series champion Bobby Gill leads the southern division points by 68 points over Hal Goodson with Steve Christian, Jay Fogleman and Shane Huffman in pursuit.

Speedway activities begin Friday when the team haulers begin parking at 5 PM. Then crews and drivers shift to the Lakeland HOOTERS North location for the 97 Country WPCV remote broadcast from 7 until 9 and beyond.

Events Saturday begin with pit gates opening at 8 AM. Practice for the Hooters ProCup competitors from 11 until 2 PM. SARA Late Model cars practice and qualify at 2:45 PM for their 100-lap feature following the Jackaroo Sauces 200. ProCup qualifying is scheduled for 4:30 PM.

Race fans will be able to go directly on to the racetrack beginning at 5:45 for the driver autograph session, which will also feature pros from the NGA Hooters Golf Tour.

The green flag waves at 7 PM to start the Jackaroo Sauces 200 presented by Lucas Oil with the SARA Late Model 100 to follow.
