Delphi Earns Prestigious Awards From DaimlerChrysler

Home Avenue Operation Wins Two Supplier Awards for Powertrain Mounts

DAYTON, Ohio, Aug. 29 Delphi Automotive Systems
announced today, the company was recently recognized with two
prestigious supplier awards from DaimlerChrysler Corporation.

Delphi Energy & Chassis Systems Home Avenue Operations in Dayton, Ohio was
named a Commodity Award winner for 2000. The award recognizes outstanding
performance exhibited by a select group of suppliers within each commodity
area. Delphi Home Avenue supplies DaimlerChrysler with powertrain mounts.
Home Avenue Operations was also named a DaimlerChrysler Gold Award winner for
2000.

"These awards reflect the great efforts of our manufacturing and
engineering teams," said Mike McCurdy, business line executive, ride dynamics,
Delphi Energy & Chassis Systems. "We have a strong commitment to the mount
business and the manufacturing and support structure that we believe best
supports the customer. The opportunities for growth are very good."

Delphi was recognized in several areas of engineering and manufacturing
including quality of the product, delivery, cost and technology.

"This team approaches their work with a winning attitude and a dedication
to quality and excellence," said Dennis Bingham, president, Local 87, United
Steelworkers of America (USWA). "Our entire workforce approaches every
opportunity with the same winning spirit."

Delphi has evolved into one of the largest global supplier of powertrain
mounts by integrating a systems approach to the development process. The
system of components can work in conjunction with Delphi's brake and
suspension systems to make a ride in a vehicle quieter and more comfortable.

"At Delphi, we understand vehicles and how the components and systems in
the vehicle react to the road and how they interact with each other," said
John Harris, plant manager for Delphi's Home Avenue/Vandalia Operations. "We
can help a customer, in this case DaimlerChrysler, by developing a mount
system that achieves the vehicle's intended ride and handling
characteristics."
