Veteran NBA Executive is TRAC Advisor
CHARLOTTE, N.C., Aug. 29 A veteran sports executive who
has held top positions with three teams in the National Basketball
Association, has joined Team Racing Auto Circuit's (TRAC) Board of Advisors.
Team Sports Entertainment Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: TSPT), the parent company
made the announcement that Carl Scheer will join that Board immediately.
TRAC President and Chief Operating Officer Jon Pritchett said "Carl Scheer
has spent more than a quarter of a century as a leader in the sports marketing
field. Having someone of that caliber advise us as we begin to build the Team
Racing Auto Circuit into one of the nation's successful sports leagues, will
pay great dividends for us."
Scheer began his career in the early 70's as General Manager of the
Carolina Cougars of the American Basketball Association and was named The
Sporting News Executive of the year in 1973. He served as Commissioner of The
Continental Basketball Association in 1986, and also held the top executive
posts with the Denver Nuggets, the San Diego Clippers, and the Charlotte
Hornets. He is now the President of ScheerSports in Greenville, SC and was
responsible for developing the 16,000 seat Bi-Lo Center in 1998, which is the
state's largest indoor sports arena. Scheer is the owner of 2 East Coast
Hockey League franchises, and is on the Board of Arena Football 2 and serves
as its Chairman. Additionally, Scheer is one of the principles in ScheerGame
Sports Development, a company currently building sports arenas in Manchester,
New Hampshire and Jacksonville, Florida.
