ALTA Launches U.S. Subsidiary; Introduces Proven Automotive Software Solutions

ALTA International, Inc. Enters U.S. Marketplace

SOUTHFIELD, Mich., Aug. 29 ALTA A/S of Copenhagen, Denmark
recently-launched its U.S. subsidiary, ALTA International, Inc., focused on
providing manufacturing execution software solutions in North America. With
this move, ALTA introduces its PowerB2O(TM) supply chain execution management
solution and Zero Latency Synchronization (ZLS) system to this market.
A proven industry performer in the European build-to-order automotive
manufacturing, ALTA's PowerB2O(TM) features order execution and monitoring;
intelligent warehouse management; graphic workflow configuration; XML and EDI
interfacing; supply logistics and scheduling; and, integration of existing
systems.
"PowerB2O(TM) is a bolt-on software solution designed to provide real-time
event management in a complex production setting," said Tony Larsen, ALTA CEO.
"With our systems, manufacturers can shorten response times to deliver
customer specific products in the right sequence, at the right time and right
place."
Designed for sequential production of customer-specific orders,
PowerB2O(TM) lets customers change supply-chain workflows and requirements
overnight -- and be online instantly. The full graphical configuration
capability enables manufacturers to configure or reconfigure complete
production workflow and, through a drag and drop programming process, manage
both scheduled and unscheduled events within the manufacturing setting.
PowerB2O(TM) monitors and reacts to all defined events that comprise the
enterprise's production processes, including order changes, missing inventory,
out of sequence status and failed quality/performance checks.
ALTA's expanded offering, the ZLS system, is a unique approach for
enabling the shortest possible lead-time for delivering the "X" day car.
"ZLS is a joint effort of ALTA and Compaq Computer Corporation to provide
solutions to connect with existing legacy applications and hardware systems,"
added Larsen. "It provides real-time synchronization between existing
enterprise systems, suppliers and assembly operations, eliminating wasted time
for information flow and allowing for the delivery of a customer order in the
shortest time possible."
ZLS processes all necessary interactions of an organization's existing
systems in full synchronization with actual production and supplier activities
within the entire supply chain. In addition, it manages all required events
to speed the delivery of the "X" day car, while providing a detailed
manufacturing record for warranty, quality tracking and failure analysis.
