Delphi Announces Interim Director of Engineering For Diesel
Systems
FLINT, Mich., Aug. 27 Delphi Energy & Chassis Systems has
named Jose Avila interim director of engineering, diesel systems business,
effective immediately. Avila, currently program director for diesel common
rail, succeeds Dr. Mike Norman who is retiring.
In this position, Avila will be responsible for both product and
manufacturing engineering activities for Delphi's global diesel systems
business until a permanent replacement for Norman is named. He will report to
R. Scott Bailey, director, engineering, Delphi Energy & Chassis Systems.
"Jose's significant engineering background, knowledge of the engine
management business and proven leadership skills will enable him to
effectively carry out these duties until a replacement for Mike is named,"
said Bailey. "This move allows us to effectively continue to build on the
successful foundation put in place by Mike Norman and the team."
Norman will retire in October of 2001, following an accomplished 33-year
career that encompassed many different facets of the automotive engineering
industry.
