Yazaki North America Expands Product Line in U.S.
CANTON, Mich., Aug. 27 Yazaki North America, Inc., (YNA),
a leading Tier One supplier of electrical/electronic components and network
systems solutions to the automotive industry, today announced a product
expansion in their Alpha Business Unit's non-automotive industry segments. In
a first offering, YNA will now market low, medium and high-voltage power
cables in addition to control and instrumentation cables to utilities,
municipalities and the heavy construction industry. Initial sales will be
concentrated in the territories of Michigan, Minnesota and Wisconsin. This
new segment supplements already existing segments of the Alpha Business Unit
being commercial power, leisure turf, white goods and subharness business.
"The diversification of Yazaki North America's product offerings,
specifically in the non-automotive sector, is essential to our growth as a
company," said George R. Perry, president and COO of Yazaki North America.
"Yazaki has increased its global manufacturing capabilities every year, both
internally and through strategic alliances. Marketing low, medium and high-
voltage energy cables in North America is just an initial step in our overall
growth strategy. Yazaki will continue to seek out ideal opportunities for
product and market expansion."
The power cables are available in a wide spectrum of voltages -- from
300 volts to 138 kilovolts. Uses for the cables include, but are not limited
to, industrial and commercial installations, power circuits in generating
plants, overhead transmission cables and primary power distribution circuits.
This is YNA's first venture into the utilities, municipalities and heavy
construction industries through strategic alliances. Yazaki Corporation has
been producing and supplying these types of cables and wires for decades
throughout the Asian market.
"Providing increased customer value through improved quality, delivery,
and service in the utility, municipality and heavy construction industries are
reasons YNA will be successful in this market," said Gene Gizzarelli,
president of Yazaki North America's Alpha Business Unit. "Every step of the
design and production of the wire and cable is highly controlled within a
state of the art manufacturing facility located in Monterrey, Mexico. This
ensures our customers that we will deliver high quality energy cables at very
competitive prices."
