BERLIN RAINS OUT MARNE MI, 8-25-01 - Persistent rain showers forced postponement of Saturday's Pork the Other White Meat ARCA RE/MAX 200 at Berlin Raceway. The event has been rescheduled for Saturday, September 22.

But before the rains came, rookie Chad Blount quickest in practice.

Saturday at Berlin Raceway wasn't a complete wash-out, at least not for Walkerton, IN rookie Chad Blount who showed the veterans the way around Berlin. Blount, in the Braun Racing Pontiac, posted a lap of 90.465 mph around the tricky Berlin oval ahead of hometown hero and defending race winner Tim Steele at 89.352. Blount's fast lap was only 3/10ths of a second off the track record set by Bob Keselowski in 1986. Point leader Frank Kimmel was next in front of 16 year-old rookie Shelby Howard (career-1st start) and veteran Tracy Leslie.
