Logic Solutions Delivers Internet-Based EDI System Approved for Use With DaimlerChrysler's New EBMX Gateway
LogicEDI(TM)'s open design offers ease of use, low cost of operation, and flexibility ANN ARBOR, Mich., Aug. 23 Logic Solutions, Inc. has developed the only Internet-based EDI transaction-processing package currently approved for interface with DaimlerChrysler's new EBMX gateway system. Logic Solutions' LogicEDI(TM) is a replacement for the application DaimlerChrysler's trading partners use to interface with the corporation's older-generation CTX gateway. Logic Solutions will unveil LogicEDI at the upcoming Auto-Tech 2001 tradeshow, on Tuesday, August 28, and Wednesday, August 29 at Cobo Hall in Detroit. Demonstrations will take place every fifteen minutes throughout both exhibit days at Logic's booth 509. Show hours are 9 a.m. - 6 p.m. on Tuesday, and from 8 a.m. - 6 p.m. on Wednesday. LogicEDI is currently the only product to provide connectivity to DaimlerChrysler's EBMX system using the Internet. DaimlerChrysler chose LogicEDI as an alternative to other EDI systems because of its painless ease of use, low cost of operation, and its flexibility and control. LogicEDI offers: * Painless EDI function - LogicEDI is a screen-based application accessible via a web browser. Non-technical users can use it with just a few minutes training. Customizable overlays allow your staff to format documents to match your company standards. * Low cost of operation - Because LogicEDI is Internet-enabled, it ends dependence on costly VANs and private networks, eliminating transaction charges. * Flexibility and control - LogicEDI allows order staff to confidently manage documents, make changes, and review status and audit trails quickly and intuitively. Unlike closed proprietary systems, LogicEDI does not require an outside consultant to configure or customize your application. * Open architecture - Built using current, standard, open technologies, it's designed to meet emerging standards: - Platform-independent - XML-based - Java - HTTPS - Microsoft SQL Server 7.0 or Oracle 8i * Extensibility for future needs - LogicEDI is designed for future extensibility for additional formats, trading partners, and environments. Warren, MI-based Hunt Automotive Electronics is one of the eight DaimlerChrysler electronic repair service centers that are signed up to use the new LogicEDI product. Bill Middel, Hunt Automotive Electronics General Manager, says, "With LogicEDI, we're hoping to have more control over the system. Our own staff will be able to make most of the changes we need. When DaimlerChrysler wants us to make a change, we'll be able to make the corresponding software change right here. Instead of waiting for months to get service, we'll be able to make changes in minutes, and that's the way we want it." Sherry Conklin, EDI Manager for Hunt Automotive Electronics says, "The LogicEDI system will be very easy to use. It will work like a normal Windows application, with understandable screens. It will be a big time-saver for me." Reliability and support are big issues for Hunt Automotive Electronics. Conklin says the current EDI system runs into transmission problems frequently and the level of support for problems with the old system is erratic; she expects improved support from the new system: "I've worked with Logic for quite a while now, and they have always had an answer for me in a timely manner."
