American Society for Quality to Host Six Sigma Roundtable

MILWAUKEE, Aug. 23 The American Society for Quality (ASQ)
will host a Six Sigma Roundtable October 4-5, 2001, in Chicago, Ill., at the
Palmer House Hilton.
The Roundtable is a face-to-face learning and networking opportunity.
Experts in the Six Sigma community will address key topics of interest,
including transactional applications, sales and marketing, project selection,
and lean manufacturing. It will also provide an opportunity to learn about
implementing Six Sigma, as well as an opportunity to hear the latest
developments regarding this powerful business strategy.
"The Roundtable will allow the six sigma community to meet face-to-face,
forge relationships, and benefit careers. Connecting people and knowledge,
the Roundtable is guaranteed to be an extraordinary event," said Sheila
Zelenski, ASQ's director of membership.
On May 6, 2001, ASQ launched the Six Sigma Forum, which provides Web-based
membership for people interested in Six Sigma. Recognizing the level of
interest and expertise in the Forum, the Roundtable is designed by and for top
practitioners in the Six Sigma community.
The cost of the roundtable for ASQ members and Six Sigma Forum members is
$495 and $595 for nonmembers. Registration is available online at
http://www.asq.org by clicking "Conferences" "ASQ's Six Sigma Roundtable."
The American Society for Quality is a 117,000-member professional
association with headquarters in Milwaukee. The 54-year-old organization
advances individual, organizational, and community excellence worldwide
through quality improvement, learning, and knowledge exchange. ASQ has been
the administrator of the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award, managed by
the U.S. Department of Commerce, since the award's inception more than a
decade ago.
