The contract, signed through the ANSYS-Shanghai sales office, grants UAES
expanded use of ANSYS/Multiphysics in order to meet the increasing product
demands set forth by automotive manufacturers. Through its divisions,
Shanghai Automotive Industry Corp. manufactures passenger cars, tractors,
motorcycles, trucks, buses and automotive parts. SAIS provides system
integration services to the companies under SAIC. The end user of this
purchase is UAES.
To improve product quality and reduce design cycles, UAES intends to
expand usage of ANSYS structural, thermal, Computational Fluid Dynamics and
fatigue analyses functionality to simulate a series of automotive electronic
products during the research and development process.
"The robust functionality of ANSYS products have proven to be a powerful
resource in our efforts to continually improve our design capabilities," said
UAES General Manager Dong Yeshun. "We anticipate continued success in meeting
demand for our products as we further embed ANSYS into our development
processes."
"SAIC is a very influential organization in the auto industry," said Jim
Tung, vice president of International Operations, ANSYS, Inc. "Our China
offices are playing an important and strategic role in assisting the engineers
