Kenworth Promotes Braun To Assistant General Manager for Operations

KIRKLAND, Wash., Aug. 20, 2001 - Kenworth Truck Company has promoted Chris
Braun to the position of Kenworth assistant general sales manager for
operations, effective September 1.

Braun will continue to be responsible for all Kenworth manufacturing
facilities located in Renton and Seattle, Wash., Chillicothe, Ohio, and Ste.
Therese, Que. In addition, he has responsibility for quality, Six Sigma
programs, materials and manufacturing engineering.

Braun has been with the PACCAR organization since 1987. His experience
includes various accounting and controller positions within the North
American truck divisions, including division controller for Kenworth.

Braun is a graduate from the University of Wisconsin where he earned a
Bachelor of Arts degree in Accounting. He attained C.P.A. and has completed
management courses in executive development at Northwestern University.
