Chevrolet, Official Vehicles Of The XV Rio Summit In Chile

Sixty-vehicle fleet will transport 19 heads of state, ministers and government delegates

Santiago, Chile - A sixty-vehicle fleet of Chevrolet vehicles will transport heads of state, government leaders and delegates in attendance at the XV Rio Group Summit taking place August 17 and 18 in Santiago, Chile. Chevrolet's participation underscores its position as Chile's preferred automotive brand and the strength of the GM Chile team which has created such success from their facilities in Santiago and Africa.

The Chevrolet fleet features 20 Impalas, appointed the "presidential vehicle;" 20 Vectras; and 20 Grand Luv, the first SUV assembled in Chile. Furthermore, Chevrolet's dealer network and its unrivaled customer services, including 24-hour roadside assistance, will support the Summit.

The official fleet was presented by GM Chile to the Office of the President during a ceremony at La Moneda Presidential Palace. The event was followed by a private meeting at the office of the Minister of Interior.

The Rio Group, founded in 1986, is comprised by heads of states from Argentina, Bolivia, Brasil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, México, Panamá, Paraguay, Perú, Uruguay y Venezuela, as well as representatives from Central America and CARICOM. The organization represents Latin America and the Caribbean block of nations before other multilateral, international, non-governmental and public policy organizations in a variety of such as sustainable development and democracy.
